STIE English

Text 1

Most people work in order to earn their living. They produce goods and services. Goods are either produced on farms, like maize and milk, or in factories, like cars and paper.

Services are provided by such things as schools, hospitals and shops. Some people provide goods; some provide services. Other people provide both goods and services. For example, in the same garage, a man may buy a car, or he may buy some service which help him to maintain his car.

The work which people do is called their economic activity. Economic activities make up the economic system.

The economic system is the sum-total of what people do and what they want.

The work which people undertake either provides what they need or provides them with money.

MIE ONGKLOK AND DENDENG TV, THE TWO SPECIAL FOODS FROM WONOSOBO

Wonosobo has some special foods. You may choose mie ongklok, dendeng TV, carica, keripik jamur, and others. Mie ongklok is one of the special foods visitors like to have. Mie ongklok is a special noodle in Wonosobo. It is a little bit different from the instant noodle because the noodle is fresh, and it is served hot. Some cabbage is also added to the serving.
What make the noodle special? It is because the noodle is also completed with barbequed meat (satay). While you enjoy the noodle, you also eat the delicious taste of the baked meat. To enjoy noodle with its ‘satay’ in Wonosobo is really enjoyable. The mountainous area of Wonosobo is always cold, and it makes us hungry.
What about bringing the food home as souvenirs? Mie ongklok is only nice to be eaten at the spot. Visitors may not bring it home. However , you may buy such foods as dendeng TV (the dried meat), carica (special fruit of Wonosobo), and keripik jamur (the fried mushrooms). Some restaurants and shops sell them.
Please come to Wonosobo and then enjoy them !

School

SMP 6 Wadaslintang. That is the name of our green college. Located in Kalidadap village, one of a very remote and difficult areas geographically in Wonosobo, Central Java, Indonesia. To reach the location, we have to struggle hard adventuring the slippery, and mountainus road, even we have to cross a wide river for us who come from northern part. Imagine, how dangerous it is ! No public transportations yet, but some trucks. Most of us use our own motorcycles.
SMP 6 Wadaslintang is one of some states schools in Wadaslintang. It is also one of the newest ones. Built in 2003 and it just has 6 classrooms. What a small school it is ! Every year the school gets new students not more than the capacity, so there are not a kind of entrance test. Even it sometimes got less students. We can imagine what kind of students they are !
The headmaster and the teachers realize that it needs strong and powerful spirit to manage the school and the students in learning process. From the beginning, we, the headmaster, the teachers and the officers have a great commitment to make the school ‘go public’.
We have enough teachers and officers and almost all of us have high motivation to develop our school better from time to time. And it is supported fully by the students. We have good programs in intracurriculer and extracurriculer.
Slow but sure…SMP 6 Wadaslintang begins to appear. Some achievements we got, and we always analyze the strength and the weakness of our school.
